Some of the most impactful moments of Jujutsu Kaisen S2 are getting an update and coming to the big screen in Japan.

The second season of ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ has been a huge success. Gege Akutami’s work is one of the biggest titles in anime and manga at the moment and the Shibuya Incident arc has left a great (if harrowing) taste in the mouths of viewers. Now, the series’ production committee has confirmed that MAPPA Studios will bring several episodes of the latest season to movie theaters in Japan, and not only that, but one of them will have improvements in its animation. Episode 17 of the second season, possibly the most shocking of all, the one that faced Sukuna and Mahoraga in a battle of epic dimensions with brutal destruction, will be one of the re-released episodes.

‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ has confirmed on its official social media that “to commemorate the release of volumes 4 and 5 on Blu-ray and DVD of the Shibuya Incident arc, episodes 41 to 44, the highlights of the final stage, will be projected in cinemas”. In addition, it also confirms that “episode 41 has additional cuts and video corrections.”

‘Jujutsu Kaisen’, the biggest anime of the moment

‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ is, along with ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’, one of the biggest successes in the world of anime in recent years. Gege Akutami has created a work that impacts in all its aspects, and that represents a sample of the possibilities of shonen as a genre and its current moment, giving rise to an adult, raw, and intense plot that is more similar to what, in many cases, conforms a seinen.

The second season of the anime has been an enormous success, adapting an arc that has marked the medium forever, and leaving behind moments to remember that, despite the problems during the development of the season, continually reached a masterful level in its animation.
