The X-Men’s debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is one of the most eagerly anticipated events for fans of the characters, and Kevin Feige has already provided a specific release window for their arrival in the MCU. Kevin Feige Confirms When the X-Men Will Join the MCU with Their Own Movie

During the Bilibili World 2026 event held recently in Shanghai, Kevin Feige revealed new information about Marvel’s future, including not only the official artwork for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, but also details about the release of the ‘X-Men’ movie. According to the studio head himself, this feature film will be released not long after ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ which is set to premiere on December 27, 2027.

I can’t wait for all of you to see ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ we have a movie after that called ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ and after that the mutants are coming and the X-Men are coming and that’s been a dream of mine. I started with the X-Men many, many years ago and to bring a new version into the MCU is going to be very exciting,” Feige said on the subject before an enthusiastic audience. Therefore, according to the head of Marvel’s current big-screen operations, the new ‘X-Men’ film is set to arrive in 2028 as the first movie released immediately after ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ though a specific release date has yet to be announced.

Since it’s already known that the mutants will appear in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, their presence in both that film and ‘Secret Wars’, as well as the release of their own movie, could be a spoiler in and of itself. Indeed, for there to be an X-Men movie, there must be an X-Men team that survives the events of both event films—though it remains to be seen which members survive… and at what cost. For now, “Doomsday” will feature the return of Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, James Marsden as Cyclops, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, and Channing Tatum as Gambit.
