LEGO reveals new Back to the Future DeLorean set at a lower price

Back to the Future is celebrating its 40th anniversary, and it shows. If you thought that the 4K Blu-ray steel book version released today would be all there was, there’s still a little more nostalgia to come. LEGO has announced that it will be releasing a new version of the iconic DeLorean early next year.

This version of the legendary and iconic time machine will be available starting January 1, 2026, and will have a very reasonable price tag of $27.99, making it a very affordable option for both fans and collectors. This version is part of the LEGO Speed Champions collection and has a total of 357 pieces.

What does the new LEGO Speed Champions Time Machine from Back to the Future include?

The DMC DeLorean that comes in this version has two modes. The first shows its normal form, with its lightning rod and California license plate reading “OUTATIME.” The second form shows the version from the second movie, with its flight configuration and the classic Mr. Fusion home energy reactor. In addition, and as you would expect from a LEGO themed kit, the set includes minifigures of the main characters, Marty McFly with his iconic red vest and Doc Brown with his white lab coat.

It should be noted that this is not the first time we have seen the Back to the Future DeLorean in LEGO form. The most recent version available was released in 2022 and was certainly a much larger model, with 1,872 pieces (five times more than the new model) and a price tag of $200, which is still available despite having been on the market for three years.
