Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth confirms release date with a spectacular trailer

Kasuga Ichiban and Kazuma Kiryu are reunited for an adventure that will take them to Hawaii, where they will face numerous challenges.

Update:
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth

Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu are already working together, as seen in the new trailer for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, the eighth main installment in the saga formerly known as Yakuza. During the RGG Summit Fall 2023 Showcase, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio announced the game’s release date. When? The title will be available on January 26, 2024.

The story trailer you can see above shows Ichiban in the Hawaiian Islands, this time wearing pants (at least at the beginning of the video). Also Yakuza: Like a Dragon protagonist reveals that his visit to the city of Honolulu is in search of his birth mother: “Mom, if you’re out there, I just wanna say I love ya! And to everyone else, aloha!”

Like a dragon in its purest form

Nothing is simple in the world of the Yakuza, so the journey soon becomes complicated and the characters have to fight their way through. Shortly after leaving for Hawaii, Kasuga wakes up naked, narrowly escapes prison, and is reunited with Kiryu. Other well-known returning characters include Goro Majima, Taiga Saejima and Shun Akiyama.

The Hawaiian setting allows for the addition of new mini-games. No one can imagine a visit to its pristine waters without surfing the waves, but this time another adrenaline sport is also introduced: paragliding. In addition to the story trailer, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio also showed off some gameplay (above), including combat gameplay, the return of summoning (yes, the giant lobster is back), and various mini-games such as karaoke and delivering food by bike.

Unlike Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name (spin-off with Kiryu as the main character), Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth returns to turn-based RPG-style combat.

Like a dragon: Infinite Wealth is coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC. The Man Who Erased His Name will be available on November 8.
