Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth has unfortunately put New Game+ behind a paywall
In an unexpected move, Sega has decided to lock New Game+ in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth behind the Deluxe and Ultimate editions of the game.
It seems like if you want to dive into the New Game+ mode of the upcoming Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, you’ll have to give in and buy the more expensive editions of the game.
As reported by PCGamer, the upcoming 8th main entry into the Like a Dragon/Yakuza series will lock New Game+from players who don’t purchase the Digital Deluxe or Ultimate Edition of the title. The game’s official website details what is different between all of the versions of Infinite Wealth, and with four editions, it turns out that some actual in-game features have been restricted to the more expensive ones.
Three of these editions are digital: the Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate editions, with the one physical edition beimg equivalent to the Digital Standard one. New Game+ has been relegated to be part of the “Master Vacation Bundle”, and as confirmed by the company’s support team in a response to a Reddit post, it turns out that this is the only way you’ll be able to unlock this feature.
How much will New Game+ cost for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth?
The Standard Edition has a cost of $69.99, the Deluxe Edition is $84.99, and the Ultimate Edition is $109.99. If you only get the basic game, you’ll have to pay at the very least $15 for an upgrade to one of the versions that includes the feature pack. And as it turns out, this pack also includes access to a bonus dungeon, additional guests for your resort, new outfits “and more”.
The Ultimate Edition also includes three bundles more, one of which is a Yakuza CD Collection set that allows you to enjoy classic tracks from the series in the game. This isn’t the first time this has happened either, as for Yakuza 7 several similar features were missing from the game, only to be added later as DLC.
