Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is this year’s biggest portable RPG now that it’s been verified on Steam Deck

SEGA and RGG Studio expand their reach to the handheld market with an official announcement, as the upcoming Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is now Steam Deck verified.

Update:
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is this year’s biggest portable RPG now that it’s been verified on Steam Deck

Let’s be real for a second here: if you’re going to dive into a 100+ hour RPG, you’re going to want to play it as easily as possible. And it doesn’t get much easier than having the game in the palm of your hands. It seems like SEGA and RGG Studio agree, as they’ve recently announced that the upcoming Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth has already been verified for Steam Deck.

What that means is that if you’re one of the lucky owners of a Steam Deck, be it the original release or the updated OLED model, you’ll be able to play the next mainline title in the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series without any issues, as it’s been optimized to work right out of the gate. You can now take Ichiban Kasuga’s wacky Hawaii adventure on the go, so there’s no excuse now for not dropping hundreds of hours on the new animal crossing-like gameplay modes.

Actually, seeing just how much content Infinite Wealth seems to be preparing for fans once the game releases later this month, it’s actually a dangerous proposition. Better carry an extra battery or two if you’re taking a long trip with your Deck.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is an absolute beast of a game

Here in MeriStation we’ve already had a chance to try out the next entry into the Like a Dragon series, and you can read all about our experience with the game right here. Suffice it to say that our own Vladimir Arteaga was extremely impressed with the hours he got to try the new game, calling it “an incredible title that will undoubtedly be one of the big surprises of this 2024″.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is launching on January 26, and it will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC through Steam, and of course, Steam Deck.
