Mario vs. Donkey Kong shows off its new worlds, modes, and more in the latest trailer

The return of Mario vs. Donkey Kong, a peculiar Nintendo experiment that brought back the plumber and gorilla to the puzzle genre, is almost here.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong has released a new trailer, the game for Nintendo Switch based on the original title that was released on Game Boy Advance in 2004, it mixes 2D platforming and puzzles, two genres that don’t seem to have much in common, but in this saga they work perfectly with a fresh and fun formula. The game will release on February 16 , and its latest trailer presents notable new features such as new worlds, levels and game modes.

More than 130 levels await to be surpassed as we rescue the Mini-Mario toys in Mario vs. Donkey Kong. Missions that we will overcome throughout new worlds that will present new enemies and different game mechanics, along with never-before-seen obstacles that will try to complicate our progress. The game will have the option to choose a casual difficulty for those who prefer a lighter challenge, while at the same time more experienced players will be able to unlock Plus Levels and Expert Levels as they progress, as well as a Time Trial mode.

A Nintendo classic that sought to recover the spirit of Donkey Kong released on Game Boy in 1994. An emblematic title that saw in this new saga a spiritual successor, with a first release on Game Boy Advance with sequels on systems such as Nintendo DS, 3DS and Wii U. To a certain extent, the objective of Mario vs. Donkey Kong is reminiscent of a video game classic like Lemmings, with the mission of guiding the Mini-Mario toys to the exit.
