Mark Hamill, a key part of Cal Kestis’ Jedi training in the latest Star Wars Jedi: Survivor commercial

The veteran actor plays a real-life Jedi Master alongside the star of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Cameron Monaghan, the actor behind Cal Kestis, has been trained in the Jedi arts by one of the veterans and one of the greatest Jedi of the franchise. Mark Hamill, the unforgettable face of Luke Skywalker, moves into the motion capture studio for a few hours to pass on all his knowledge to the young Padawan. The hilarious trailer can be seen in the video below:

“You’re not playing baseball,” Hamill quips as Kestis wields the fake lightsaber. In fact, the veteran actor is taken aback when the protagonist wields a double lightsaber. “They never gave me two lightsabers,” he says reluctantly. The video is a little treat for those who feel the saga deep inside. The ad is part of the promotional content for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which will be released on April 28 this year for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, a “galactic sequel”

The long-awaited sequel to Fallen Order has passed with flying colors in the hands of industry experts. At MeriStation, our colleagues in Spain gave it a 9, an excellent score that highlights the good work of Respawn Entertainment. In their conclusions, they say that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor “goes a step further in all areas” and that it “respects the playable base of its predecessor, but enhances it with new features and changes of the most successful”.

“The story is deeper, delving into the traumatic situations of its protagonists and the concept of family that unites them. On the gameplay level, the stances (fighting styles) bring freshness and give shape to a more elaborate and precise combat system that still fails in closed spaces. The planets of the galaxy are structured around the metroidvania formula, much improved compared to the first installment,” we said.
