Marvel’s Wolverine already has a release date, and fortunately it will arrive before GTA 6
Insomniac Games and PlayStation confirm the official release for one of the most anticipated titles of 2026.
If there’s one upcoming release that PlayStation fans are eagerly awaiting this year, it’s the arrival of Marvel’s Wolverine. Insomniac Games is putting our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man aside for a moment to bring us an adventure featuring another of Marvel’s most beloved characters. And although we had a release window for this year, PlayStation has finally announced when this title will be coming our way.
Through a post on social media, the official PlayStation account on X (formerly Twitter) announced that Marvel’s Wolverine will arrive on September 15, 2026. Without a trailer or prior announcement, this is how one of the most anticipated releases of 2026, previously known to be coming this fall, has been revealed.
Recently, Marvel’s Wolverine skipped the latest State of Play, with Insomniac promising more information about the game in “spring 2026.” Before that, the last we saw was the first gameplay trailer in September 2025, where we got to see Wolverine in scenes of frenetic combat highlighting his adamantium claws and mutant regeneration. It was in that same trailer that we learned about its release window, as well as the impressive work Insomniac has done so far to bring this character to life.

The release date also manages to avoid a very complicated window that we will have at the end of this year with the arrival of Grand Theft Auto 6 on November 19, 2026. With this, Logan’s claws will avoid clashing with the chaos that Vice City promises, and give both titles time to shine and show what lies behind their long development times.
