MCU’s X-Men reboot to feature “very youth-oriented” cast and fresh approach
To me, my X-Men!

The future of the MCU is about to change following the events of the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars movies. We know that after these movies, the time will be right for mutants to take center stage in this cinematic universe and everything suggests that there is already a clear vision of what this version of the X-Men will look like.
In a recent interview with The Nerdist, Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios chief, talked about their vision they have for this very important group of comic book superheroes, mentioning that it will be a “very youth-oriented” take. “We had a great experience with [Schreier] on Thunderbolts and if you saw that movie, what he did with those character interactions - he also has his pulse on, shall we say, a younger demographic,” Feige recently told Nerdist, “Not - he’s younger than me, for sure - but he’s tapped into that in a way that I think is important. It was important for Thunderbolts, much more important for X-Men, because X-Men, as it was in the comics, will be a very youth-oriented, focused and cast movie.”

A mutant future on hold in the MCU
For now, Michael Lesslie, who worked as a screenwriter on The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, is writing the script. Jake Schreier, who directed Thunderbolts*/The New Avengers, will direct the film.
Considering that this project is still in the very early stages, and that Avengers: Secret Wars is not scheduled for release until December 2027, which will bring Phase 6 and the Multiverse Saga to a close, it will be a long time before we see this team of mutants on the big screen.
That said, we will see some familiar faces that have already been confirmed for Avengers: Doomsday. Patrick Stewart will reprise his role as Professor Xavier, and Ian McKellen, Famke Janssen, and James Marsden will also return as Magneto, Jean Grey, and Cyclops, respectively.
