Oscar-winning ‘Anora’ Star Eyes MCU and X-Men
Mikey Madison is one of the heavy favorites to join the cast of the MCU’s new mutants.
Mikey Madison has always been one of Hollywood’s rising stars, but since the early hours of last Monday morning, she has become a reality. The Oscar for Best Actress for her role in ‘Anora’ has made the 25-year-old Californian one of the most sought-after young actresses, and it couldn’t be otherwise, Marvel Studios already has her in its sights.
According to the renowned insider Daniel Ritchman, Marvel is already thinking about Madison to join the MCU in a yet to be specified role, but everything points to her being part of the X-Men reboot. The actress fits like a glove, since Kevin Feige and company want to bet on a group of young mutants, since in fact Sadie Sink (‘Stranger Things’), only 22 years old, is for the moment the one gaining more strength to play Jean Grey/Phoenix in the first adventures of canon mutants in the MCU.
Madison’s was only the first of up to six Oscars that ‘Anora’ won, in addition to Best Actress: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Film Editing and Best Supporting Actor.
What is the future of mutants in the MCU?
Not a single cast member has been confirmed yet, but the X-Men are likely to be presented as the key to the future of the MCU, at a delicate moment after the discreet release of ‘Captain America: Brave New World‘. The material on which they would be based is a complete mystery, but it is quite possible that if Kevin Feige and company want to take recent stages of the mutants, it will be more the current one than the previous one, known as the Krakoa Era, extraordinarily complex even for what usually happens with these characters. In this current stage we find two groups, the one led by Cyclops (also with Beast, Magik, Juggernaut ...) and the one led by Rogue (with her husband Gambit, Wolverine ... when he is ...).
