Mary Jane Chooses Superhero Name for Married Peter Parker with Two Children in Ultimate Spider-Man

The alternate universe of Ultimate Spider-Man continues to hold big surprises in the wall-crawler’s origins.

Marvel continues to surprise with their new line of Ultimate comics, and one of the ones getting the most attention is obviously one of the most popular characters from the House of Ideas. We are talking about Spider-Man, of course, and a few weeks ago we discovered the alternate origin of Peter Parker’s spider powers.

As we saw, an evil version of Reed Richards - Mr. Fantastic - known in this universe as The Maker, prevented the radioactive spider from biting Peter, causing him to never become Spider-Man, and did the same to the rest of the superheroes who would never become him. The Maker’s goal was to form a secret council to be the master of the world, and that there was no one capable of standing up to him.

However, Tony Stark (Iron Lad) had other plans, and traveling six months into the past, he rescued the spider to bite Peter, thus gaining his powers. However, the differences with the known history are more than noticeable, so that already with his suit - given by Stark himself - he fights crime in the company of none other than the Green Goblin, who, this does not change much, is Harry Osborn, although in Ultimate Spider-Man they have a cordial relationship without being friends.

Peter Parker gets his superhero name in Ultimate Spider-Man

But until now, until issue #6, he was just Peter Parker with powers. It was after a fight with the Kingpin, who has become the king of crime and controls the Daily Bugle, when Peter could not hide his wounds from Mary Jane, to whom he is married and has two children, Richard and May.

In this sequence, Peter suggests to his wife that he come up with a code name for his superhero alter ego, to which she quickly comes up with an answer. “Oh, Peter... isn’t it obvious? You’re Spider-Man,” she says.
