‘Masters of the Universe’ first trailer is pure epic and ’80s nostalgia
Previously in the hands of Netflix, the project was canceled and rescued by Amazon Studios.

Few franchises better represent the spirit of the 1980s than ‘Masters of the Universe,’ which is back on the big screen and in comic books. Following the release of a brief teaser, the new film from Amazon Studios now has a first trailer that promises even more than we initially thought.
The respect for the saga is immense. At the forefront of the film is Nicholas Galitzine (The Idea of You) in the role of He-Man, who has trained hard to step into the shoes of the Prince of Eternia. In contrast, his eternal antagonist, Skeletor, will be played by Jared Leto (TRON: Legacy), who has the perfect opportunity to shake off his reputation as a box office flop.
One of the fans’ greatest hopes lies behind the camera, as the film is directed by Travis Knight, who is responsible for what is considered one of the best, if not the best, films in the Transformers saga, ‘Bumblebee.’
When will ‘Masters of the Universe’ premiere?
‘Masters of the Universe’ will premiere on June 5, 2026. Alongside Galitzine and Leto, the cast includes popular names such as Idris Elba (Man-At-Arms), Camila Mendes (Teela), Alison Brie (Evil-Lyn), and Morena Baccarin (Sorceress).
