Monster Hunter Wilds makes a bold statement and confirms its release date as the first big hit of 2025

PlayStation took advantage of its newest State of Play presentation to reveal the next free games coming to PS Plus Essential for PS4 and PS5 in October.

Monster Hunter Wilds fecha de lanzamiento

Monster Hunter Wilds made its appearance at the State of Play. Capcom showcased a new beast that skillfully dominates water. The world is breathtaking, and the level of environmental interaction far surpasses that of any previous game in the series. It will arrive on February 28 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

And Capcom keeps doing its thing

Capcom continues to prove that it’s currently one of the strongest Japanese publishers. Not only does it have titans like Monster Hunter Wilds on the horizon, but in recent months it has also ventured into more double-A territory. We’re referring to Kunitsu-Gami: Path of The Goddess, a tower defense evolution with heavy influences from Japanese mythology. Its launch on Game Pass isn’t a coincidence; Phil Spencer, head of the division, recently acknowledged that Microsoft helped fund part of the project. The commitment is clear.

2024 has also brought them great success. Both critics and the public were blown away by Dragon’s Dogma 2, which, interestingly enough, was Hideaki Itsuno’s last project at Capcom. It received a score of 9.2 out of 10 on MeriStation. In our review, we stated that it “has become one of the best RPGs of the current generation.” We noted, “The team led by Hideaki Itsuno has delivered a game that blends the best of classic RPGs with elements that are enjoyable today. We love the combat, we’re thrilled by the spectacular battles, and we’re immersed in a living world that reacts to our actions. It’s a pleasure to see games like this in the triple-A scene.”
