The Monster Hunter franchise has gained immense popularity since its debut in 2004, captivating fans across various consoles. With over 108 million units sold to date, as revealed by Capcom, the franchise continues to be a force to be reckoned with in the gaming industry. The latest game in the franchise, Monster Hunter Wilds launched last week and already made a huge impact in the franchise as well.

Monster Hunter Wilds breaks a sales record in three days

8 million of those came from Monster Hunter Wilds’ first three days, thus becoming the fastest Capcom game ever to get to that number. Talk about a nice start, huh?

This incredible pace surpassed the sales figures of its two predecessors by a significant margin. It’s double that of Monster Hunter Rise’s four million units sold in 2021 and considerably more than Monster Hunter World’s five million units sold in 2018.

Capcom’s newest game has also written its name in Steam’s ledgers; Monster Hunter Wilds achieved a remarkable milestone by surpassing one million concurrent players on Steam during its opening weekend. This achievement propelled it to become the seventh most-played game of all time.

“Monster Hunter Wilds is a game of contrasts,” wrote our colleagues in Spain in their review. “If we stay with the good things, we must highlight the solid gameplay base that evolves with respect to the world. It is a pleasure to fight and face an environment without the limitations of the past. We cannot forget the inclusion of cross-play and cooperative connectivity. Most of the monsters added to the bestiary are good, but the number is limited by the way certain reinterpretations are approached.”
