MWC: HONOR Takes Big Step in AI-Based Device Integration

Chinese tech company takes first steps to truly leverage new hardware by simplifying interaction between devices

This year we will hear a lot about artificial intelligence and especially its integration. This was clear at the last CES 2024 with the endless presentations made by major technology companies. On this occasion, at the opening of the Mobile World Congress 2024, the Chinese technology company, HONOR, shows why it wants to be one of the main players in the application of AI.

One-click device integration

At the conference’s opening, George Zhao, CEO of Honor, took a historic step by revealing that the brand has improved the interaction between Apple’s closed system devices in just 1 click through its AI-based concept, MagicRing. The brand also improves interoperability with the Google, Intel, Microsoft, NVIDIA and Qualcomm ecosystems.

In addition, during the presentation, the Chinese executive showed a better integration of AI by combining its hardware with proprietary patents, in contrast to what Samsung has shown with its latest top line, for example, eye-tracking interaction to activate certain functions.

Top of the line with real AI implementation

During the presentation, the brand showed new devices with features that take full advantage of the technology to make life easier for users. Examples include the HONOR Magic6 Pro, a top-of-the-line smartphone, and the HONOR MagicBook Pro 16 laptop.

HONOR Magic6 Pro is the real step toward AI integration

This terminal integrates new improvements in photography, display, performance and user experience through its Android version, MagicOS 8.0.

Now, its interface is based on the industry’s main trend of improving the user experience through the Magic Capsule and Magic Portal, since with a simple touch on the notification panel at the top of the screen, this “magic capsule” expands to provide additional information and instant access to other resources, eliminating the classic navigation between applications. In addition, Magic Portal uses AI to contextualize messages and user behavior to simplify complex tasks in a single step, even in airplane mode.

An intelligent camera

The HONOR Falcon 2.0 camera system is powered by an AI model trained with a database 28 times larger than the previous generation, allowing us to enjoy exceptional shots on its 6.8-inch LTPO display with 4,320Hz pulse-width modulation frequency, dynamic dimming, customizable circadian cycle display and more natural tones.

To support this, it adds the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform, new 5,600mAh HONOR Silicon-Carbon 2.0 Battery with HONOR E1 chip for performance optimization and withstands temperatures below -20°C, 80W wired SuperCharge and 66W wireless.

HONOR Laptop

Also introduced was the HONOR MagicBook Pro 16, a new AI-powered laptop that integrates features between Windows and Android operating systems. With the latest processors from Intel and graphics from NVIDIA, AI performance is enhanced at the platform level.

HONOR tablet and new foldable

Finally, the company unveiled the HONOR Pad 9 tablet, which features a 12.1-inch HONOR FullView display, 2.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, an eight-speaker audio system with Histen Audio, and the Porsche Design HONOR Magic V2 RSR, a luxury foldable smartphone.

Colors

The HONOR Magic6 Pro will be available in Premier Black and Vintage Green, the Porsche Design HONOR Magic V2 RSR in Agate Grey, the HONOR MagicBook 16 Pro in White and Midnight Black, and the HONOR Pad 9 in Space Grey and Aquamarine.
