Anime

Naruto’s new episodes have a release date and the comeback is imminent!

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Naruto anime, Pierrot will release 4 brand new episodes after the summer, featuring modern and revamped animation.

Update:
Naruto

New Naruto episodes have been confirmed by Pierrot, but we still don’t know what they’ll be about. The animation studio behind the original series confirmed earlier this year that it was working on four unreleased episodes. Now we know when they will see the light of day: September 3, 2023.

At the time it was explained that they would not be recaps, but 4 chapters with brand new content, although it remains to be seen what will be told in them and where they will be placed in the story. We also don’t know how long they will be (sometimes the specials are a little longer than the normal episodes), but there is no doubt that one of the most exciting moments of the year is coming for all of us who grew up with Masashi Kishimoto’s Shonen.

What can we expect from Naruto’s return?

Everything seems to indicate that Pierrot wanted to return to the original anime after making Road of Naruto, a video they released last year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series. It lasted ten minutes, and in it they recapped some of the best moments of Naruto and Naruto Shippuden, while remastering them. They used all the latest technology to give it a major facelift in terms of resolution and lighting, and even included dozens of details and unreleased scenes. The result was nothing short of amazing:

The training of Team 7, the first mission against Haku and Zabuza, the Chuunin exams (one of the best arcs in anime history), Gaara’s plot, the fights between Naruto and Sasuke, the spectacular designs of the Akatsuki and their fights and stories, the deaths of certain characters and the subsequent crying, the plots of Pain and Itachi, the reunion with Minato and the Ninja War. .... These are dozens of unforgettable memories to which we hope to add four more in September. And what the hell, why not dream? Maybe this is a trial balloon for the long-awaited remake of the original series.

We leave you with the first three images shared after the announcement of these new episodes, not before reminding you that if you want to watch the series for the first time, we have a report with all the filler chapters in Naruto and Naruto Shippuden, as well as a take a look at of how to watch all the movies and OVA in order.
