NASA shows how the moon has evolved in a spectacular two-minute video
Two intense minutes that sum up 4.5 billion years of evolution.
Two minutes may seem like a very short time, but sometimes it turns out to be an eternity. And when it comes to space, this can be more relative. This is the case of a video in which NASA shows us the evolution of our Moon during 4.5 billion years, a time span that is hard for any human being to imagine, it is far beyond us, but the U.S. government agency has compressed this space of time into just two minutes.
“From year to year, the Moon never seems to change. Craters and other formations now seem permanent, but the moon didn’t always look this way. Thanks to NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, we now have a better look at some of the moon’s history. Learn more in this video,” says the space agency in the description of the video published on YouTube. A video in which we can see the passage of billions of years in record time, the formation of craters, and all the impacts that our natural satellite has received over time, giving it the shape and image that we can see today. Despite its proximity, the Moon continues to be of great interest to the scientific world.
NASA continues to make history
NASA’s progress in space is constant, and one of mankind’s great goals is to conquer space. Recently, the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration made history by reaching a record distance across the surface of the sun. How did they do it? Thanks to the special Parker spacecraft, which has already made 17 approaches to the Sun and came within 7.26 million kilometers on September 27. The goal of this type of mission is to better understand the workings of the star that sustains life on Earth.
