Negan from ‘The Walking Dead’ arrives in Fortnite, but his new outfit is disappointing
Negan from The Walking Dead is getting a new outfit in Fortnite to the delight? of fans. It is not the one from the show, but the one from the comics.

Epic Games has announced a new collaboration between Fortnite and ‘The Walking Dead’, the popular zombie franchise created by Robert Kirkman. In addition to new content for UEFN - also known as Fortnite Creative - a new outfit for Negan, one of the most iconic characters from the comic books and TV series, will arrive in the game. But there is a problem: unlike the outfits already present for Rick, Daryl and Michonne, which had the appearance of their interpreters in the series, Negan’s outfit in Fortnite does not have the appearance of Jeffrey Dean Morgan for a reason: he is the Negan of the comics.
Fortnite announces new collaboration with ‘The Walking Dead’, but Negan’s new outfit will disappoint fans
Through a trailer posted on its YouTube channel, Fortnite has announced a new collaboration with ‘The Walking Dead’ universe, focusing on UEFN, the game’s specific free-to-create side. This content includes zombies that look like the comics, as well as new assets from locations visited in Robert Kirkman’s stories, such as prisons and other survivor settlements.
Coincidentally, among the new items announced as part of the collaboration is a new outfit for Negan, one of the most popular and beloved characters among fans of the franchise. Curiously, however, this is the Negan of the comics and not an outfit with the look of Jeffrey Dean Morgan, the actor who played the character in the TV series. This aspect of the character has an inked and cel-shaded touch, emphasizing his origins in the pages of the comics.

For fans it was a huge disappointment, especially considering that previously released outfits of ‘The Walking Dead’ in Fortnite as those of Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon and Michonne, had the appearance of their respective interpreters: Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, and Danai Gurira. So it is possible that Epic Games simply did not have Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s permission to use his image in the game. At this time we do not know its price and when it will hit the store, although as it has been revealed in a trailer it should not take too long to be available for purchase.

The collaboration also includes new weapons and items, including a new shotgun and, of course, Lucille, Negan’s trusty baseball bat from both the show and the comics. Overall, this is a collaboration that many fans of both the game and Robert Kirkman’s zombie saga have described as “bittersweet”: on the one hand, they see the arrival of this new content as positive, even if it is for the creative side of Fortnite. On the other hand, the arrival of Negan as a new outfit but without the appearance of his actor from the series has been a cold water for his not a few fans.
