Neither Jacob Elordi nor Callum Turner—this is the first actor to audition for the role of the new James Bond
Casting is underway, and there are three essential requirements to become the new Agent 007.

Anticipation is at an all-time high to find out who will be chosen as the new James Bond. It’s no surprise, since after Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig, the legendary franchise created by Ian Fleming is about to welcome a new Agent 007. Casting is open, and among the favorites are stars like Callum Turner and Jacob Elordi, although so far only one actor’s name has been revealed from those who have auditioned: Tom Francis.
As Variety has exclusively reported, numerous names have been rumored in recent weeks, but the only confirmed candidate is the young British actor Tom Francis (26), known for his work in the popular musical ‘Sunset Boulevard’ and the American TV series ‘You’. It would certainly be a surprising choice, given his youth and his short career in the film industry. The information has been confirmed by Alex Ritman, Variety’s London bureau chief.
So far, no other names have been mentioned, so we’ll have to wait to find out who the new James Bond will be. The chosen actor will have a tough job ahead, as Daniel Craig has set the bar very high.

Henry Cavill’s fans are in no doubt
The name of the charismatic British actor has been mentioned frequently. Nina Gold, the casting director, recently shared the three essential requirements for the role: “ooze sex appeal,” “knowing how to act,” and being young enough to star in “three or four films.” Unsurprisingly, the fact that he meets these requirements has led Henry Cavill’s fans to launch a social media campaign to make him the new James Bond. It’s worth noting that Cavill is currently 43 years old. Daniel Craig was 38 when the first of his Bond films, ‘Casino Royale,’ was released.

This is a common question, and the answer varies from time to time. Amazon owns the rights to the film franchise, but the movies aren’t permanently available. In fact, as of now (May 17, 2026), you can watch all of Daniel Craig’s films on Prime Video, but the others are only available to rent or buy.
