Neither Rayman, nor Prince of Persia, Ubisoft draws the attention of its fans with this particular image without context

Is there something stealthy coming this summer?

Update:

Ubisoft has taken several fans by surprise this morning with a very cryptic and particular image on its X account, reminding us that it still has Sam Fisher and the Splinter Cell franchise in mind, but without giving much detail on what to expect.

A few days before the Summer Game Fest begins, and with it the classic summer presentations, Ubisoft published on its X account (formerly Twitter) an image of Sam Fisher, protagonist of the action-adventure and stealth franchise, Splinter Cell. This image of his face is accompanied by some simple emojis, as well as the text #SplinterCell.

While the image seems to come across as meaningless, and reminds us that a remake of the first Splinter Cell has been in development for some time now, however, the alt description reveals a bit more, but also raises more questions. “Close-up of Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, showing a stern expression with focused eyes, short dark hair, and a rugged beard, set against a blurred high-tech background,” the description explains. “He’s locked in.”

Between the remake or a brand new project

The detail that the image is from Chaos Theory, the third game in the franchise, and not the first Splinter Cell causes confusion. The aforementioned remake is focused on the first installment, which was announced since December 2021, with a part of Ubisoft Toronto working on its development, although after some images shown in 2022, since then there has been pure silence.

Will we see something during Summer Game Fest, or is Ubisoft just warming up, prior to a possible Ubisoft Forward. As soon as we have more information, we will share it.
