‘Demolition Man’ (1993) is one of the many loose adaptations of the novel ‘Brave New World’, which focuses on a near dystopian cyberpunk dystopian future. It does not have very good reviews, but its aesthetics and themes have made it a cult film. Another reason for this is its cast, which includes two of the biggest action stars of the 80s and 90s: Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes, as well as other well-known names such as Sandra Bullock and Denis Leary.

However, there is an actor who had a very small role in ‘Demolition Man,’ and nobody noticed, as he was not known at the time. However, he would later become a superstar. We are talking about Jack Black, who appears only for a few seconds and is credited as “Wasteland Scrap #2,” one of the men of Edgar Friendly’s resistance group that lives underground in Los Angeles.

Jack Black’s subsequent career

‘Demolition Man,’ despite having been in the film between little and nothing, was the first commercial success in which he participated, as the film grossed three times the amount spent. After that, Jack Black had a somewhat ambivalent career, but it was not without blockbusters. The most resounding were ‘School of Rock,’ Richard Linklater’s comedy turned cult film, ‘Kung Fu Panda,’ voicing Po, and, recently, ‘A Minecraft Movie,’ grossing close to 1 billion dollars at the box office.

‘Demolition Man’ went down in history as another action movie between two of the greatest heroes of yesteryear (Stallone and Snipes), but it also left one of Jack Black’s first appearances on the big screen.
