Netflix is down: When will it be up and why you can’t watch streaming movies and series
The streaming platform is down and won’t let you watch movies and shows. We look at how you can find out about its status and problems.

The show you were watching on Netflix freezes and won’t load? The streaming platform won’t let you play a movie? If your plan for this afternoon was to watch Season 5 of You, we have bad news. Don’t worry, it’s not your router or that you forgot to pay your subscription. Nor is it a connection failure. The application simply had a worldwide problem, “went down,” as the saying goes, and will be temporarily unavailable until those responsible fix it.
Netflix users have been reporting problems for the last hour today, April 24th, according to the Downdetector platform. The problems started around 2:00 pm (ET) this morning but have increased over the past few hours. Below, you can see how service issues have been reported on the website Downdetector:

Netflix’s official Twitter account has not yet commented on the matter and no statement has been issued, but that could be a good sign. Maybe they think that the connectivity issues will be fixed quickly and that it’s not even worth making a statement. Another thing to mention is that the Netflix status page mentions that “Netflix is up!”
When will Netflix be up and running again?
Given the importance of the application to the entertainment world and the blow to Netflix’s image, the downtime should not last too long and it is likely to be a matter of minutes before they are back up and running.
You can follow any updates on the status of Netflix from the application’s status page and from the Downdetector website, where any user can report an outage and report such problems. There, the current crash has already accumulated more than a thousand reports.
