Netflix to increase prices in 2025 across all subscription tiers
Remember when paying $11.99 for Netflix was a luxury?

Netflix announced on Tuesday that it will once again increase the prices of its subscriptions in the United States and other markets such as Canada, Portugal and Argentina. This new price adjustment will affect all of its plans, including, for the first time, those with commercials.
Netflix made the announcement during its Q4 2024 earnings results (via Variety), after it saw its largest subscriber growth, adding a staggering 18.9 million users during the period, but neither the new users, the ‘Squid Games’ Season 2 records, nor the arrival of the WWE were enough for the streaming company.
How much will Netflix subscriptions cost in 2024?
The new prices in the United States will be as follows.
- The Standard with ads plan will go up for the first time since its release in 2023, from $6.99 to $7.99.
- The Standard plan will increase by a total of $2.50, from $15.49 to $17.99 per month. It is worth noting that this is the first increase in 3 years.
- Finally, the Premium plan will go up from $22.99 to $24.99 per month.
- Under the same announcement, adding an additional member to the main account, part of the famous move to stop users from sharing accounts, set in October 2023, will also increase, from $7.99 to $8.99 per month.
It seems like a vague memory from 2015, when $14.99 was the price for the premium tier and you could share it with your friends.

“As we continue to invest in programming and deliver more value for our members, we will occasionally ask our members to pay a little more so that we can re-invest to further improve Netflix,” the company said in its quarterly letter to investors. “To that end, we are adjusting prices today across most plans in the U.S., Canada, Portugal and Argentina (which was already factored into the 2025 guidance we provided in October 2024).”
