New Earthbound 30th anniversary merchandise: products, prices, and where to buy it

New Earthbound merchandise is on its way very soon, as we prepare to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the cult classic RPG.

Earthbound fans are in for a treat, as alongside the game’s 30th Anniversary celebrations we’re set to get new merchandise for the title and its series in August 2024, coinciding with the start of several exhibits celebrating Shigesato Itoi and Nintendo’s legendary RPG from the Super Nintendo era.

While the celebration is only planned to take place across Japan, with said exhibits for the game (”Mother 2″ as it’s known in Japan) popping up inside selected department stores, the new merchandise is being produced and released by Hobonichi, and will include a variety of items are clothing that fans will be able to get at the exhibition. Among these items, lucky fans will be able to get real-life versions of Cup of Lifenoodles, the healing item inside the game that is basically tasty instant udon noodles.

Below you’ll find the full list of merchandise set to release alongside the upcoming anniversary exhibits, with their prices in Japanese yen:

  • T-shirt: ¥4,950
  • Body towel: ¥3,300
  • Hand towel: ¥1,320
  • Paper bag: ¥2,200
  • Cup of Lifenoodles: ¥1,780
  • Poo’s Ramen Donburi set with bowl and spoon: ¥3,300
  • Mr Saturn’s hanging stress ball: ¥1,320
  • Tonzura Brothers (a.k.a. Runaway Five) tin box: ¥2,860
  • Space Tunnel pochette: ¥3,300

All of this new merchandise will release exclusively in Japan on August 1, 2024, but it’s possible that some of these items may become available overseas through importing. There have been no announcements made about celebrations being prepared in the United States or the rest of the world.
