Nicolas Cage announces his upcoming retirement from cinema
Nicolas Cage, the legendary and beloved actor known for his extreme roles and over 100 movies, has just revealed he’s ready to retire from the world of movies.
He was born in Long Beach, California. He is 59 years old and has worked in more than 100 movies (and even some video games). It is the eternal Nicolas Cage, one of the most popular actors alive and whom we have all seen countless times on screen. But in this life, nothing lasts forever, so we have bad news for his fans: his career is coming to an end.
In other words: Nicolas Cage has announced his retirement from cinema. He has not set a date, but his words to Uproxx make it clear that the time for his departure is near. Cage affirmed that he would have liked to leave after the release of ‘Dream Scenario’, his latest film, although his contractual obligations do not allow for it, since he is currently working on several other films.
“I feel I’ve pretty much said what I’ve had to say with cinema. And I’d like to leave on a high note and say, “Adios”,” sayd Cage when asked about the possibility of retiring soon. But the fact that he would stop making films does not mean that we will not see him on television again, because he has not hesitated to show his interest in other formats such as series: “I saw Bryan Cranston stare at a suitcase for an hour on one episode of Breaking Bad. We don’t have time to do that in a feature film, so maybe television is the next best step for me. We’ll see.”
