Nintendo moves up ‘The Legend of Zelda’ movie release date, bringing the live-action film sooner
The live-action adaptation will now release earlier than expected.

Unlike with its Super Mario movies, Nintendo seems to enjoy constantly changing the release date for the live-action ‘The Legend of Zelda’ movie. Just this afternoon, the Japanese company announced a new release date—but this time, for the better.
Via Nintendo’s X (formerly Twitter) account, Shigeru Miyamoto himself announced that the global release date for ‘The Legend of Zelda’ will be moved up from May 7, 2027, to April 30. “It’s less than a year until release, but please wait just a little longer,” the series’ creator concluded. Filming for the movie has wrapped
For now, filming for ‘The Legend of Zelda’ movie has wrapped in New Zealand. Although there hasn’t been much information about the film, an image of the movie’s clapperboard was leaked after filming wrapped, showing Link in his full outfit and wielding the Master Sword in a look inspired by Twilight Princess.
