One Piece

Oda puts all the pieces back in place to introduce a legendary pirate in ‘One Piece’

The Elbaf arc continues to gain momentum with its first phase already completed; now the good stuff is coming in the form of a legendary pirate introduced in chapter 1135.

One Piece

Chapter 1135 of 'One Piece' introduced such important elements as Owl Library or the Iku Iku Fruit; however, what attracted the most attention were the new details about Colon’s character, that curious “kid” introduced long before Elbaf’s arc. And finally, in chapter 1135, Colon met Luffy in a memorable encounter. And besides the good reception of the character by the fans, the most fascinating thing was the revelation that Colon was the son of a human pirate and a giantess.

Who is Colon’s father?

Well, while Colon is the son of Ripley - a member of the last generation of the Giant Warrior Pirates - it is believed that the father is also a human, and let’s remember that in the previous chapter, Colon keeps repeating that his father was a powerful pirate years ago. However, Colon never reveals his name, so Oda invites us to believe that he is a legendary pirate from ancient times.

For now, Oda is keeping the identity of Colon’s father a mystery, presumably a legendary pirate who has not yet been introduced; or is he? The latest theories suggest that he is Scopper Gaban, a former member of Roger’s Pirates. If so, he would be an extremely powerful warrior, very skilled in battle, and Roger’s right-hand man.

A monstrous guy armed with two huge axes who was part of a crew that no longer exists in the present time of ‘One Piece’, whose identity will be known very soon and will mark a before and after in the story of the Elbaf arc itself. So far, Oda has left some clues about this mysterious character. Before the arrival of the Straw Hat Pirates in Elbaf, he was seen drinking while waiting for Luffy’s arrival; on another occasion, we saw his silhouette walking around Elbaf Village.

We will have to wait for future chapters of ‘One Piece’ to find out the true identity of Colon’s father and how he might influence the adventures of Luffy and company and the universe created by Eiichiro Oda.
