And with Vegapunk on the verge of death and the Straw Hats ready to set sail, or in other words, at the best moment of Egghead’s arc, ‘One Piece’ goes on vacation and a very long hiatus in the manga ensues.

Eiichiro Oda explained in an emotional letter that he was very worried about his health and that the death of Akira Toriyama made him rethink things. The author wants to take a break to deal with the loss of his partner and to have a medical check-up, which will result in a generous break for the manga (there will be only three chapters in two and a half months). A break reminiscent of the one he had to take last year to undergo surgery, which led to one of the longest breaks in the manga’s history, published almost weekly for 25 years.

Wishing the author all the best, there is nothing left but to be patient and revise when the ‘One Piece’ manga returns with chapter 1112.
