One Piece manga returns after hiatus and sets date for chapter 1087

After a month-long hiatus, the One Piece manga returns this weekend.

Update:
One Piece

This month without One Piece lasted longer than the Mugiwaras’ journey through the deserts of Arabasta. At the beginning of June, Eiichiro Oda announced that he had to undergo an operation and that the One Piece manga would be suspended until he could recover and continue working on “the end of the series”. Well, it seems that the hiatus is over and this week we will have a new chapter, the 1087.

When will One Piece return? Date of Chapter 1087

The One Piece manga returns this week with chapter 1087, which will be available for free and in English on Manga Plus next Sunday, July 16th at 8:00 AM PT.

Now the question is what this chapter will be about, because Oda has so many open fronts that we don’t know which one he will decide to surprise us with. What about the end of the confrontation between Sabo and Im Sama (the great villain of One Piece), the fight between Kuzan and Garp (which confirms the Marine as one of the strongest characters in the manga) or even the return to Egghead with Luffy escaping from Admiral Kizaru.

One Piece Chapter 1087: Release date and time

The One Piece manga will return with its 1087 chapter on Sunday, July 16th, 2023, at 11:00 AM ET. In the rest of the United States, it will be at the following times

  • 11:00 AM ET
  • 10:00 AM CT

A turning point for One Piece

The hiatus came after a few months in which One Piece was on a roll. It gave us one great chapter after another and the plot of Future Island began to consolidate as one of the best arcs in its history. To give you an idea, Luffy had been out of the manga for more than six weeks and still no one had complained. Oda was jumping from one big event to another and we didn’t mind losing sight of the Straw Hats.

We leave you with a recap of recent One Piece highlights so that you can understand how long this hiatus has been:
