Overwatch 2 Gets John Cena’s Support to Promote New Season

Here we can say that we did not see him.

To paraphrase the wrestler’s famous catchphrase, “We couldn’t see him.” Blizzard has announced a partnership with the famous wrestler and actor - who you may remember from his role as Peacemaker - to help launch the upcoming season of Overwatch 2: Invasion.

After several weeks of Overwatch 2 streams on Twitch being interrupted by a mysterious hooded figure named Enigma, it was confirmed today that the figure was none other than John Cena. His message, which was delivered on other streamers’ broadcasts, was to warn players of the impending invasion of Null Sector on August 10. This message was revealed along with this video:

The collaboration with John Cena does not end with these messages. Before the launch of Invasion, players can visit fighttheinvasion.com to learn more about the wrestler as Enigma and how they can participate in the event.

A new animated trailer was also released

In addition to this announcement, Overwatch 2 players can now watch the new in-game cinematic “Calling,” a preview of the arrival of Season 6 Invasion, which will be released next week. This cinematic focuses on Vivian Chase, aka Sojourn, and connects what she was doing in Toronto before Winston called her back to Overwatch, the attack in Paris, and the invasion that Null Sector is preparing around the world. Best of all, Sojourn’s puppy Murphy makes an appearance.

Overwatch 2 continues to have big plans for the launch of this new season, suggesting that it will be the biggest the game has had since going free-to-play last year. It was recently announced that the team-based shooter will be the first Blizzard game to launch on Steam.
