Palworld developers say they won’t make the same mistakes as Rust

Although Palworld is still in its early stages, the first viral game of the year has a clear idea of where it wants to go with its PvP efforts.

Palworld has taken the world by storm, and yes, it is the first viral game of 2024 that does not seem to lose any of its strength and interest among its players. Still in Early Access, its studio, Pairpocket has already outlined a roadmap for the game, as well as a series of updates to keep it active. However, there are some uncertainties and concerns from the community as to where it may be headed, especially in terms of PvP.

Palworld PvP will not be “lawless”

These concerns arose with the announcement of Palworld’s roadmap, which announced upcoming features and revealed the first details of the much-requested PvP mode. In response to these concerns, the Community Manager of the Palworld server said on Discord (via Reddit) that the same bugs that have plagued other PvP games like Rust won’t happen because “PvP in Palworld won’t be PvP from Rust anyway.

“There are 10 survival games on Steam Monthly that launch with ‘lawless open PvP’ and none last more than a week,” wrote Community Manager Bucky. “Palworld has a vision for PvP that will fit into the world without suffering from the same pitfalls that every other survival game except like 2 do.”

The Palworld roadmap to the future

With less than a week in the market, Pairpocket presented its roadmap, where among its future updates are PvP, raid bosses, and a Pal Arena, where there will be PvP combat with our pals. For now, there is no date for when these updates will be implemented. It will be interesting to see how the game continues to grow, since although it has broken many gameplay records on both Steam and Xbox, it has already indirectly caught the attention of The Pokémon Company due to the similarity of its characters to the famous Pocket Monsters.
