Pocketpair

Palworld surpasses Counter-Strike 2 and only one game in Steam history has more players

The great phenomenon of 2024 is growing day by day and more and more millions of people are enjoying the game.

Update:
palworld

Palworld has undoubtedly become the great phenomenon of the beginning of the year in the video game industry, and everything points to the fact that it will be difficult to beat the figures that the Pocketpair title is achieving. Millions of units sold and millions of concurrent players passing through Steam day after day, confirming the great success of a game in Early Access. The latest? The second place in the history of Steam and the largest number of active players, an achievement that no one could have imagined.

When Palworld was first shown to the public, no one could have imagined that we were looking at a game with such huge potential. Called “Pokémon with guns” by some, the game is taking everything by storm, and after becoming the paid game with the highest number of active users, it is getting closer to becoming the top game worldwide. It has already surpassed a Valve and Steam classic like Counter-Strike, reaching a peak of more than 1 million and 850 thousand concurrent players, and only one game is ahead in the list: PUBG. Will it be able to surpass it? It will not be easy, and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds managed to gather 3,257,248 concurrent users, at a time when the game was paid. A feat that is difficult to achieve today, and at the time marked the birth of the battle royale as we know it today in video games.

Palworld and its million-dollar growth

It is not the first game based on the Pokémon formula, a style that, albeit in a different way, sagas such as Dragon Quest or Shin Megami Tensei incorporated before the birth of the legend. One of the differences between Palworld and other games based on the capture of creatures is its style, with firearms and the online possibilities it currently offers. Being in Early Access, it has already surpassed the incredible figure of 7 million units sold in just five days, and everything points to the fact that it will not stop growing.
