Payday 3 details its first-year roadmap and teases its upcoming content updates

Payday 3 is launching very soon, and its developers have already revealed all of their plans for the game’s first year, including heists, characters, weapons, and more.

Update:
ARTE MERISTATION PayDay 3

After years of rumors and waiting, Payday 3 finally releases on September 21, 2023. But long-time players of the series already know that what we get at launch won’t be the only thing to enjoy in the future. Developer Starbreeze Studios has just unveiled their roadmap for all of the first-year updates planned for the game.

Year 1 has been dubbed “The Bad Apple”, and will consist of four DLC expansions which will be released throughout the first year of the game, one in each season. Below you’ll find all of the DLC names, alongside their planned release window.

  • Syntax Error - Winter 223
  • Boys in Blue - Spring 2024
  • The Land of the Free - Summer 2024
  • Fear and Greed - Fall 2024

As of this moment, nomore details have been shared about what each DLC pack will include, but if we consider what they’ve done in the past with Payday 2 then players should expect the arrival of new Heists (missions), weapons, and perhaps new characters to play as.

What to expect from Payday 3 DLC?

While we don’t know exactly what will be in each DLC release, Starbreeze did confirm that they’ll also be releasing additional content throughout the year available for all players. These will include:

  • Seasonal Events
  • Playable Characters
  • Skill Lines
  • New enemies
  • Post-launch engine update to Unreal Engine 5
  • Cosmetics
  • New features
  • Quality of life

For now, heisters will need to sit tight until Payday 3 finally releases. On September 21, 2023, the game will be made available on PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. It’ll also be available for Xbox Game Pass subscribers on both PC and consoles.

Remember that there’s a technical beta test this weekend open for all players on PC and Xbox Series X|S. Here’s what you need to know to join.
