‘Peaky Blinders’ is here to stay: first image from the spin-off series following Tom Shelby’s son 10 years later
Jamie Bell takes over as Duke Shelby in the new sequel set in the 1950s, the dawn of a new era.

The Shelbys haven’t had their final say. Netflix has just released the first official image from the new series that will serve as a sequel to ‘Peaky Blinders’. This snapshot confirms what we all suspected after the premiere of ‘The Immortal Man’: the story will continue with a new face at the helm of Birmingham’s most feared clan. The actor chosen to replace Cillian Murphy at the helm is Jamie Bell, who takes over from Barry Keoghan and Conrad Khan in the role of Duke Shelby, the protagonist’s son. The decision to recast this role stems both from the time jump in this sequel and the desire to showcase a more mature version of the character, who is now at the absolute center of the narrative.
Jamie Bell Stars in the New ‘Peaky Blinders’
The image released by Netflix shows Bell completely transformed into Duke. He is no longer the inexperienced heir we saw in the film, but an established and dangerously ambitious leader. The actor takes on the role of Tommy Shelby’s eldest son in this new chapter, set in the 1950s—a decade after the events of ‘The Immortal Man’.

This sequel will also mark a turning point for Birmingham. As the city struggles to rebuild itself after World War II, it becomes fertile ground for new conspiracies, alliances, and turf wars. According to the official synopsis, Duke is now “older, wiser, more ambitious, and most certainly more dangerous”—a fact that the first image makes clear with his cold, calculating demeanor.
A refreshed cast and production underway
The series will feature a cast that combines well-known names and new faces: Charlie Heaton (“Stranger Things”), Jessica Brown Findlay (“Downton Abbey”), Lashana Lynch (“No Time to Die”), and Lucy Karczewski, making her television debut. Although Netflix has not yet revealed details about these actors’ characters, it has confirmed that filming is already underway in Birmingham for this project, which has been commissioned by the platform for at least two seasons.
