Plaud Note and Plaud NotePin: analysis of two intelligent voice recorders with Artificial Intelligence
We analyze the intelligent voice recorders by reviewing their transcription level, the summaries they make and the mind maps they create.
The last two months we have had the opportunity to test the Plaud Note and Plaud NotePin voice recorders, developed by the startup Plaud, which seek to revolutionize the way you capture and manage information, integrating artificial intelligence for unprecedented productivity. Both gadgets are designed to transcribe, summarize and organize your voice recordings, whether they are personal notes, calls or important meetings. Here’s our final verdict on these tools.
Plaud Note: the AI-enabled voice recorder for calls and notes
The Plaud Note is a compact, card-sized audio recorder, ideal for recording both voice memos and phone calls. Its main feature is the integration with artificial intelligence, which allows automatic transcription and generation of detailed summaries of your conversations.
Key features of the Plaud Note:
- Design: minimalist metal construction, available in various colors (gray, silver). Includes a MagSafe case for iPhones.
- Ease of use: easy Bluetooth pairing with the mobile app. Start recordings from the device or app.
- AI functions: audio transcription and summarization, including the creation of “mind maps”. Support for multiple languages.
- Storage and battery: 64 GB of internal storage, up to 30 hours of continuous recording and 60 days on standby. Fast magnetic charging.

Plaud NotePin: versatility and discretion in smart recording
This is the evolved version of the Plaud Note, standing out for its size that can even be mistaken for an exercise band. It is ideal for those who are looking for a discreet and adaptable recording solution for different everyday situations, as well as in all kinds of situations.
Key features of the Plaud NotePin:
Compact design: smaller and lighter than the Plaud Note, with options to wear it as a bracelet, magnetic pin, with a clip or as a pendant.
Advanced AI recording and processing: Its main function is voice recording for intelligent mobile processing. It uses AI models to:
- Transcribe audio to text.
- Summarize content.
- Generate idea maps.
- Allow questions and answers about the recorded content.
- Provide real-time voice enhancement.
Technical Specifications: 64 GB storage, 18-20 hours of battery life in recording. Encrypted recordings with AWS, Azure and Google Cloud. Supports 59 languages.
Advantages in use: Immediate recording without smartphone interruptions. Perfect for students (classes), professionals (meetings) and content creators (spontaneous ideas).

Plans and security
Both offer 300 minutes of free monthly transcription, with subscription plans such as Pro you can have up to 1200 minutes per year and with Unlimited you have unlimited minutes. It is important to note that the recordings are encrypted for greater security.
Final hardware impressions of the Plaud Note and the Plaud NotePin
Plaud Note
Starting with the Plaud Note we can say that for journalism it is a powerful tool, as it makes it easy to take notes of conferences and interviews, if you have phone calls you just have to move the small lever on the side of the recording button so that it can record the audio of the call. The battery on the other hand lasts a long time, so much so that in almost two months we have only had to recharge it twice.
Its design however is very discreet and makes it almost unnoticeable if you have it with the included MagSafe for iPhones. One of the most surprising points is that even in noisy conditions (such as conferences), it managed to run the summaries wonderfully and what to say about the mind maps. This is a highly recommended device for all types of people.

Plaud NotePin
This gadget despite being more “portable” can generate some discomfort if you bring it as a bracelet if you bring a Smartwatch. As a magnetic pin, with the clamp or as a pendant it can be somewhat confusing to turn it on, since you have to press the surface and wait for it to vibrate, in fact, many times it happened that as its indicative LED is very small, we did not realize that it was not on and we lost the material, so sometimes it is necessary to check through the app that it is indeed recording. Another point against it is that the battery lasts considerably less than the Plaud Note, although the fact that it is “more portable” can make a difference if you are a person who is moving a lot.

Software
This is undoubtedly the most robust point, as both devices share the same application and it is very intuitive, we always use the Auto-Fit template, although recently the Auto-Fit Reasoning template was added and it also has an advisory and report with different AI models such as:
- GPT 4-1
- Claude 4
- O3-mini
- Gemini 2.5 Pro
- Gemini 2.5 Flash
Or simply select the automatic mode, which is the one we used.

It is important to note that to get good results you must select the language of the recording, because if you do not do so we will have to repeat the process, which by the way is short, although it also depends on the connection speed you have, as it uploads the audio to the cloud for processing.

Another feature that we really liked is that once the audio has been processed, we can ask direct questions about any topic that has been discussed, even if it was in another language.

Finally, if you don’t know what type of plan suits you, the app itself tells you how often you are using it, day spurts, the % of maximum records per day and the % of maximum hours per day, as well as a heat map with the usage behavior of the last 12 months.
Conclusion
Both the Plaud Note and Plaud NotePin are powerful tools for anyone who needs to capture and process spoken information efficiently. From accurately transcribing meetings to instantly generating class summaries, these devices leverage Artificial Intelligence to save you time and improve your productivity.
