Update:

PlayStation has confirmed a general price increase for PS Plus. The company stated on social media that “prices will start at” $10.99 USD per month in “select regions.” The quarterly subscription, however, will increase to $27.99 USD.

The price increase is due to “ongoing market conditions.” All new members starting May 20 will have to pay the new rate if they want to subscribe to PS Plus. Existing customers will continue to be charged the previous price “unless their existing subscription changes or expires.”

And what about the other PS Plus tiers?

There are quite a few questions about what the full lineup of service tiers will look like. The figures PlayStation is currently providing point to the Essential tier. What about PS Plus Extra and Premium? The message they’re sending is confusing. To make matters worse, there isn’t even a post on the official blog detailing everything related to the price increase. All we can do is wait for the coming days and the approaching price increase date.

While PlayStation is raising the price of its subscription, Xbox is lowering the price of its most expensive plan. In late April, they announced a discount on the monthly fee for Game Pass Ultimate in exchange for removing the annual release of each new Call of Duty game. And it shows: the price has dropped from $29.99 to $22.99 per month.
