PlayStation reveals first look at The Last of Us DualSense limited edition
There won’t be a The Last of Us Part 3, but at least we’ll have a DualSense.
Fans of The Last of Us will soon be able to get their hands on something new for PlayStation 5—literally. While it’s not a new installment in the franchise, PlayStation has announced a new limited edition DualSense controller, fully themed around the saga and featuring the most representative logos and iconography from the two games developed by Naughty Dog.
The controller was created “in close collaboration with the creative team at Naughty Dog, this striking design features glossy trophy icons printed across the surface that call back to key moments, characters, and events,” according to the PlayStation Blog post.
“We wanted to ensure that both installments of The Last of Us are represented, via trophy icons printed in black gloss across the controller body,” wrote Head of Studio and Head of Creative Neil Druckmann and Graphic Designer Megan Mehran. “Among the trophies, three particular images will immediately stand out for TLOU fans: The firefly, moth, and wolf.”
When will The Last of Us DualSense go on sale?
The Last of Us Limited Edition DualSense will be available in limited quantities from direct.playstation.com from 10:00 a.m. local time, 7:00 a.m. PT on March 14. It will also be available at participating retailers on April 10th. As for the price, get your wallet ready: it will cost more than the standard DualSense, with a suggested retail price of $84.99 USD.
In the meantime, PC gamers can look forward to the arrival of ‘The Last of Us Part II Remastered’ on Steam and the Epic Games Store on April 3, as well as the premiere of ‘The Last of Us Season 2′ on HBO and streaming via Max on April 13.
