Pokémon GO and Detective Pikachu: Dates and content for the big crossover event

The Pokémon GO and Detective Pikachu Returns universes will come together for a few days to celebrate the launch of the new installment.

Pokémon GO will not miss the opportunity to have a collaboration with Detective Pikachu Returns. The new installment of the spin-off, which is scheduled for release on October 6, will star a significant wink for fans of Niantic’s game. You will be able to capture your own detective hat-wearing Pikachu and Slowpoke wearing a hat, among other Pokémon making special appearances in the game, with the option to capture them in their glowing versions. Read on for all the details.

Dates, times and content of the Detective Pikachu: Returns event in Pokémon GO.

The Detective Pikachu: Returns event will take place in Pokémon GO from 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2023, until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 9, 2023, local time. You will receive a free Timed Research in which Professor Willow will track down “a Pokémon of interest.” After completing the objectives, a Pikachu wearing a detective hat will appear, ready to be captured. Remember to redeem your rewards before the event ends.

Research is tied to a collection challenge and various event bonuses, such as surprise encounters when taking snapshots and double experience when spinning PokéStops during the Celebration. Research tasks will give you the chance to meet Sudowoodo, Snivy and Rowlet as you complete them.
