Prime Video reveals first look at Stephen King’s ‘Carrie’ series from Mike Flanagan
The new adaptation stars Summer Howell as Carrie White and reimagines the horror classic for the social media era.

Stephen King is known for many stories, which have been adapted numerous times for film and television. But one of the stories that many remember is ‘Carrie’, one of his early hits, which was adapted for the big screen in 1976 by Brian De Palma. Now, a new version is set to retell this unique coming-of-age story, which will be coming to Prime Video.
The streaming platform has released the first images from the series, which will be brought to us by horror filmmaker Mike Flanagan. The director is no stranger to King’s works, having already directed films such as ‘The Life of Chuck’, ‘Doctor Sleep’, and ‘Gerald’s Game’. The series will star Summer Howell as Carrie, Samantha Sloyan as Margaret (Carrie’s mother), Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, Joel Oulette as Tommy Ross, Josie Tota as Tina, Arthur Conti as Billy, Thalia Dudek as Emaline, Amber Midthunder as Miss Desjardin, and Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle.

What is ‘Carrie’ about, and when will it be available on Prime Video?
The series aims to be a reimagining of King’s novel. According to its synopsis:“Misfit high‑schooler Carrie White (Summer Howell) has spent her life hidden away inside the walls of her home with her fiercely protective mother, Margaret (Samantha Sloyan). After her father’s sudden, untimely death thrusts her into the unforgiving ecosystem of public high school, Carrie is forced to navigate a viral bullying scandal that tears through her community, the relentless pressure and casual cruelty of the social‑media age, and the awakening of mysterious telekinetic powers that rise alongside her adolescence.”
