PS Plus Extra and Premium is losing 32 games in May 2023
Besides saying goodbye to the PS Collection, May will also see an exodus of over 30 games from the PlayStation Extra and Premium catalog, including Sony exclusives.
We were warned in advance that the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalog, like the Xbox Game Pass catalog, would fluctuate and change over time. Some games would come out and others would come in (just yesterday we knew the additions of April, with Kena: Bridge of Spirits and DOOM Eternal as the main protagonists). But we did not expect a number of exits similar to what was just announced by Sony for the month of May.
32 games will leave the service on May 16. Among them, what is most striking is the farewell to the two editions available up to now of Marvel’s Spider-Man, an exclusive game from Sony itself that has no apparent reason to leave PS Plus Extra and Premium. The move is as bizarre as Quantum Break’s departure from Game Pass, though in its case, Microsoft and Remedy were quick to explain and clarify. We will see if there is similar news in the next few days.
Let the list serve as a warning to try the ones that interest you, finish them, or get their respective platinum. And remember that on May 9 the PS Collection will also disappear, the 20 free games that Sony gave to PS5 owners to test the most relevant PS4 titles via backward compatibility. You have until then to claim names like Bloodborne, Days Gone, Monster Hunter World, and Resident Evil 7.
