Resident Evil 4 Remake added microtransactions to upgrade your weapons
Capcom has gone ahead and added 23 different microtransactions to Resident Evil 4 remake, all of which help upgrade a different weapon for $2.99 each.
Capcom has introduced a series of pay-to-win microtransactions in Resident Evil 4 Remake. It has done so through the free update of the Mercenaries mode, one of the classic modes of the franchise. Each of the 23 tickets —$2.99 each— allows access to a quick weapon upgrade. Under normal circumstances, these “exclusive” upgrades require completing side quests to get spinels, the currency used to get the same tickets at the merchant’s special shop.
“To gun enthusiasts, knife collectors, and lovers of weapons of any and all kinds: here’s your ticket to the gun show! Specifically a ticket to be redeemed at the Merchant’s shop,” says the official description of these items in digital stores. “With this, you’ll have access to a weapon’s exclusive upgrade at any time, regardless of the weapon’s level. Not only that, but once unlocked, the upgrade itself is free of charge!”Whoever wants to get all 23 tickets will have to pay almost $69 USD.
Resident Evil 4 is already a bestseller
It hadn’t been in stores for a couple of days and yet it had already sold 3 million units, but Capcom has just updated the sales figures. According to a note on its website, the revamped version of the fourth installment has accumulated over 1 million more units sold. That is, It exceeds 4 million copies worldwide.
Resident Evil 4 Remake is available on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PS5, and PC. The game has not only worked wonders for Capcom in the game market but critics have also liked it too
