Resident Evil 4 veterans are telling fans to “shoot the water to get rewards”

esident Evil 4 Remake has, among its many virtues, kept many of its small details which contributed to the greatness of the original game on Gamecube. One of those touches is the surprise that was in store for players who started shooting fish in the lake (or those who wanted to achieve all the achievements in later versions). Spoiler: if you did, the creature that dwells in its waters would snack on you without the possibility of salvation, in addition to giving you a good scare.

Tradition must be kept untouched

As expected, the remake was not going to be left without introducing that peculiar element (although it must be said that the original version was a bit more impactful). You can usually see how veterans try to warn those who are playing Resident Evil 4 for the first time about this, but a group of them have decided to do just the opposite and have a laugh at the expense of newbies.

For example, user gakidx has made a video showing how to get the “romantic secret outfit” for Leon, by shooting the lake. We can also find other users trying to trick fans on Steam and various forums.

Of course, it’s nothing new. The same thing happened with the original too, a time in which it was common for the first ones to have completed the game to tease those who were behind. Remake is a new opportunity to revive the joke with a new generation of players.
