Resident Evil: Code Veronica marks the return of one of Capcom’s all-time classics in the form of a remake

Capcom has long been regarded as one of the industry’s most powerful companies, thanks to its breakneck release schedule and the fact that nearly all of its titles turn out to be hits. And today, during Summer Game Fest 2026, we’ve once again been treated to an unexpected announcement from the company: Resident Evil Veronica is Capcom’s new game.

One of the most beloved entries in the series is returning with a reimagining that promises to be the kind of top-notch game Capcom has been delivering for years.

Capcom’s 2026 is going to be insane

As we mentioned, the Japanese company has been on a roll for several years now. Once Resident Evil 7 arrived—a title that was a breath of fresh air for a franchise crying out for a revolution—it began working on a slew of projects, and practically all of them came to fruition. This year alone, in just six months, they’ve given us three absolute gems: Pragmata, a sci-fi TPS; the acclaimed Resident Evil Requiem; and, of course, Monster Hunter Stories 3, which has established itself as one of the best JRPGs of 2026. Someone stop them!
