Robert Pattinson’s message to people who still hate ‘Twilight’
The London actor rose to fame thanks to the vampire film series.
Robert Pattinson is experiencing a high point in his acting career. Earlier this year, he starred in ‘Mickey 17,’ the new film by Bong Joon-ho. He was also chosen to be in the cast of Christopher Nolan‘s new film based on Homer’s ‘The Odyssey’. It will be his second collaboration with the British filmmaker, following his supporting role in ‘Tenet’ (2020). Since then, Pattinson has played Batman in Matt Reeves’s film, worked with David Cronenberg and the Safdie brothers, and starred alongside Willem Dafoe in one of the best horror films in recent years, ‘The Lighthouse’ (2019).
However, the leap to fame came in 2008 when he was the visible face of ‘Twilight‘, which started a saga of vampire movies. Loved by many and hated by a few others, Robert Pattinson stated in an interview with GQ Spain that he doesn’t understand the animosity towards the film that still exists among people. “I love that people keep telling me, ‘Man, ‘Twilight’ ruined the vampire genre’. Are you still stuck on that shit? How can you be sad about something that happened almost 20 years ago? It’s crazy” the actor declared.
Future projects
With the ‘Twilight’ saga more than over, Robert Pattinson looks to the future and is excited about what he sees. ‘The Odyssey’ s generating a lot of buzz and are the most anticipated of their respective years. But as mentioned before, Mickey 17, his work earlier this year with Bong Joon-ho (‘Parasites’, ‘Memories of Murder’), made him an “expendable traveler” on a space mission, and you can read our review, here.
