Rockstar teases surprises in GTA 6: ‘Absolutely mind-blowing things’
The game has won the Most Wanted Game of 2025 award at the Golden Joystick Awards, and the company has broken its silence to accept the award and add to the hype.
It’s hard to believe, but GTA 6 has already won its first award. The game from Rockstar Games didn’t even need to be released to win a prize at the Golden Joystick Awards 2024, the Most Wanted Game of 2025. The news is not that it won the award (which it will probably do again at The Game Awards 2024, where it is also nominated), but what publishing director David Manley, who went up to accept the award on behalf of the company, had to say.
“Thank you so much for this incredible award. Also, a massive thank you to all the fans. They’re the most important thing for us. They mean a lot to us at Rockstar. There’s an incredible amount of people doing amazing things on Grand Theft Auto 6, absolutely mind-blowing things. So it’s an honor to be able to come up here and accept this award on everyone’s behalf. I wish more of us could be here. Thank you very much, everybody, and yeah, more to come. Thank you.”
If there’s one company that never succumbs to pressure, it’s Rockstar, who, far from lowering expectations, raise them with every trailer and every statement. Speaking of trailers, let’s not forget that December 4th of this year will be one year since the presentation of GTA 6 and we are still without any news. What if the “more to come” promised at the gala is closer than it seems? They’re not going to give us an empty year, are they?
