‘Scooby-Doo Origins’ reveals the first look at Young Scooby-Doo in first teaser

Netflix confirms the live-action series will premiere in 2027.

Update:

Just a few months after the cast was announced, the upcoming live-action series based on the legendary Hanna-Barbera cartoon, ‘Scooby-Doo Origins,’ has given us what we’ve been waiting for: our first look at that pup named Scooby-Doo.

On its social media channels, Netflix released a brief 20-second teaser that finally reveals what television’s most famous Great Dane will look like. The teaser is shot from the POV of a small dog in what appears to be a forest setting, until it encounters another very familiar face. At the end, we see Scooby and Shaggy together, revealing that the series will premiere in 2027.

A couple of months ago, during the cast reveal—where it was announced that Tanner Buchanan would play Shaggy Rogers, Mckenna Grace would play Daphne Blake, Abby Ryder Fortson would play Velma Dinkley, and Maxwell Jenkins would play Fred Jones—Scooby was left out, with only a footprint on a door serving as a clue. Now, we’ll have to wait a little longer to see how this new adventure unfolds.

What will ‘Scooby-Doo Origins’ be about?

As the name suggests, it’s an origin story that will introduce us to the characters before they first climb into the Mystery Machine. “During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy and Daphne get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder,” read the official synopsis. “Together with the pragmatic and scientific townie, Velma, and the strange but ever-so-handsome new kid, Freddy, they set out to solve the case that is pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets.”
