Secret Invasion’s final episode is the lowest-rated production in the history of the MCU

Secret Invasion, the Marvel series starring Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, broke negative records in the Marvel Universe with high criticism.

Secret Invasion

The return of an MCU series to Disney+ after so long -the previous one being She-Hulk: Attorney at Law- doesn’t seem to have been very well received. Critics have treated it so badly that it is likely that Marvel will reconsider their production cadence, something that they have already hinted at on numerous occasions, specially after recent setbacks Like the ones of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, talking about emphasizing quality over quantity. The last episode of the series starring Nick Fury has not been the exception to this, quickly becoming the worst rated in the history of the MCU on Rotten Tomatoes, the portal specialized in global criticism.

How has criticism treated Secret Invasion?

The initial reception of the series was very cold, but it has gradually fallen off to an all-time low. According to the following tweet, the first episode failed to catch on, obtaining a score of 52% on Rotten Tomatoes. However, things would only get worse, reaching 38% for episodes 3 and 4, going up in 5, but going into a spin in the sixth and last one reaching an abysmal 13%, which as we said before, places it last in the history of the MCU series.

Neither Loki nor the aforementioned She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Hawkeye, nor Falcon and the Winter Soldier had ever recorded such poor numbers before. In the coming months, we will enjoy the premiere of other series of phase 5 of the MCU such as Echo, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, Ironheart, and the second season of Loki, which should rebound in criticism, basically because it is difficult to do worse. However, to enjoy one of the most anticipated upcoming shows, Daredevil: Born Again, we will have to wait even longer, having been affected by the writers’ strike by delaying its production.
