“Shit leakers”: Bayonetta and Okami director doesn’t hold back on users who leaked Switch 2

Nintendo Switch 2 leaks have been all the rage over the past few weeks, with crucial details about the console’s hardware being revealed long before its official unveiling. Among the leaked aspects were the design of the device itself, as well as its new Joy-Con and even its technical specifications. Knowing all of this, Nintendo’s official announcement, while keeping millions of people on tenterhooks, lost the wow factor that had gamers so excited.

Among those most outraged by the leaks is Hideki Kamiya, director of Bayonetta and Okami, who did not hesitate to lash out at those responsible in a strong message on social media. Kamiya called the leakers “shit” and said they should be “cursed” forever, condemning them to have “poop on the soles of their shoes for the rest of their lives”.

The Japanese creative defended the importance of maintaining confidentiality within the industry and accused these users of acting for their own benefit, seeking fame and attention without contributing anything positive to the development of video games. For Kamiya, people who leak information online are responsible for lost opportunities and damage the experience for both developers and players themselves. “Shit leakers only act for their own personal pleasure and satisfaction, and not only do they not benefit anyone,” he said through X.

Kamiya also took the opportunity to highlight the difference with his own project, the Okami sequel, which was revealed without prior leaks during the last The Game Awards gala. “The shit leaker is in a position of responsibility where he may know information that only very few people know, but what they do is nothing more than an expression of his filthy desire for approval and he has not the slightest reason. It is shameful because they are human beings, it is these bastards who are to blame, not the manufacturers whose secrets have been exposed, and we should crush them as soon as possible.”
