Summer Game Fest

Skate makes a kickflip at Summer Game Fest, and finally shows off its new features in a new gameplay trailer

The new Full Circle brings back the spirit of the classics but opts for a free-to-play model.

Update:
Skate

One of the franchises we have been waiting for for so long finally slides gracefully into Summer Game Fest 2024. Fans of old school skateboarding games have been waiting for this release, which has been announced for a few years but hasn’t really received the attention or hype it deserves. Now the developers of Full Circle, the new studio dedicated to the development of this new release, have finally demonstrated all the tricks, jumps and grinds that can be achieved with this new title known only as Skate.

The work that EA has been doing has been slow but steady. Some players were lucky enough to be part of a beta that put this next installment to the test. And although there has been a lot of leaked content, it doesn’t do justice to what has been presented now. Well, Full Circle says they are STILL working on the game... Anyway, less words and more skating, here’s the video video:

Skate will be a free-to-play game

Electronic Arts and Full Circle have chosen a free-to-play model for Skate. This was announced by the studio itself two years ago, but not before clarifying that this will not involve aggressive monetization through the indiscriminate use of loot boxes and microtransactions. The goal is that the items sold through the store will be mostly cosmetic, so they are working to not discriminate against users with pay-to-win elements.

Skate will be released for PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC. The last game in the series is Skate 3, which was released almost 15 years ago, so it will be a full-fledged resurrection.
